Nicola Palmieri Infantino

This is an ongoing series of oil and acrylic paintings taking reference from Google Maps screenshots. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, travel is not possible and people are forced to live through old photos from previous vacations. Google Maps gives the opportunity to travel anywhere in the world through smartphones. In this series Nicola spotlights Florence because of her extended period of time spent studying abroad in 2019 with OCADU. She paints specific areas she recalls visiting so that the paintings feel connected to her experience.
